James Westwood

Director

James studied I.T at Worcester Technical college whilst working part-time in a warehouse for a haulage company.

Over a period of 18 years James moved from the warehouse to the road, then ultimately to the office where he ended up as operations manager for the company. In 2013, James went on to complete a full UK and international CPC.

In 2019, James finally felt it was time to launch his own venture and, upon collaborating with Ross and Darren, Wright Freight was born.

“We really wanted to develop a freight forwarder that offers high levels of customer service with a friendly can do attitude, giving customers full support for whatever requirements they had. We want to offer everyone a simple way of doing business, meaning all they have to do is pick up the phone or send an email and there would always be a solution within our arsenal.”

Darren Lothian

Director

Darren is a recruitment, logistical and training specialist with years of experience across the transport industry.

Prior to starting Wright Freight he held senior positions within two of the Midlands top general haulage firms before joining Wright Staff recruitment, and finally becoming a founding Director of Wright Freight.

He is a national and international CPC Transport Manager, holds all categories of license including C+E, PSV and forklift and is a registered driver CPC trainer.

“We have great relationships with clients through the Wright Staff business, and there was clearly a gap in the market to offer cost effective transport solutions utilising a network of hauliers whilst offsetting the carbon footprint.”

Ross Wright

Director

With 18 years’ experience in logistic recruitment, and thirteen years in running his own driver recruitment agency Wright Staff, Ross has ventured into the freight forwarding industry with his two business partners Darren and James. Ross saw that both Wright Staff and Wright Freight could complement each other with local companies (and also further afield).

“If Wright Staff can’t supply a driver to the client, we can now offer to move their load for them through Wright Freight. As a group we can offer a higher level of service to our customers. We are always keen to add value for our clients.”

Reece Clarke

Freight Consultant

Reece has over 10 years of experience in the logistics sector. 

He started his career as a delivery driver before moving to transport planning, project management, and eventually onto sales and account management. Having worked across all spectrums of the industry, Reece has a unique perspective on all operational elements of haulage.

Reece runs the general transport helping a varied range of clients with day-to-day logistics solutions from Nationwide to Worldwide.

Simon Foster

Freight Consultant

Having worked in the transport industry for over 11 years, Simon has extensive experience in this field. He originally started as a HGV driver before working his way up in a fast-paced environment to Transport Manager. As a result, he has developed key skills in negotiation, freight transportation, warehouse operations and management – all key components of the freight and logistics industry.

Simon runs the construction side of our business.

Richard Coates

Accounts

Richard joined our team after 23 years previous employment which included rolls in Sales, After Sales, Transport, Storage & Distribution both Administration & Shop floor, including overseeing a storage and distribution site where he gained a City & Guilds in Goods and Transport and an NVQ in Warehousing.

With a keen eye for detail and numbers he now heads up our Accounts department.

Lucy joined the Wright Freight team as part of the Government backed Kickstart scheme on a part time basis for 6 months, We placed her within our accounts department where she shined, so much so, that once she completed her 6 months on Kickstart she joined the team as a fully fledged member of Wright Freight doing full time hours.

John joined the Wright Freight team as part of the Government backed Kickstart scheme for 6 months, he works on the construction side of our business with Simon. After his Kickstart ended he too became a fully fledged member of the Wright Freight family.
